Recently my son spilled a cup of juice on the table. I turned - TopicsExpress

Recently my son spilled a cup of juice on the table. I turned around and saw it and he was grinning. I gave him a paper towel and said clean it up. I went back to what I was doing. A few seconds later I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Isaiah grinning with an empty cup. He said can I have some more please. I looked at him like are you serious. I got convicted and poured him more juice. Here is where the conviction came from. I felt like God was saying to me why punish him by not giving him what he needed. God doesnt punish me by withholding what I need for the things i have done wrong. Thats not punishment it is deprivation. He said teach him to handle what he has been given so he doesnt spill it again. Whatever God has given He gave it to you for a reason. He doesnt change his reason just because you mismanage what He gave you. Shame and condemnation will keep you from asking God to repeat what He has already done. When you come back to God what God does is repeat Himself, as a provider/healer/deliverer, in every situation in your life. Dont be afraid to ask him to do it again! Hes God and he is not human! You may say this is too easy. Does God work like that. Sure he does. The whole point is God wants our total dependence on Him. He wants us to depend on Him in the good and bad times. If you are trying to fix your own messes I have a question. How is that working for you?
