Recently, one of my moms cousin’s children, Shane Wall, passed away. There are no words to describe the feeling of losing a son, brother, a boyfriend, or father (as Shane was a father to his son Jace). But through love of family members, prayers and time, healing can begin. Although the scars may still be there and memories can open them up a little, one must remember that there is still beauty in life. Memories of our loved ones may still cause some pain to come back, but they can also serve a second purpose - serving as an inspiration to continue to follow our dreams and have our kindness and compassionate actions be in memory of them. And I feel like this song just sums all these thoughts above up. As the song says, yes life is beautiful, but it is complicated and we barely make it, but there are miracles” and our strength is shown by letting the monsters see you smile. Strength is shown by even in the face of the emotional pain we have inside, we continue to love and let our memories of our loved ones be the fire inside us that sparks all the things that we do based on the lessons our loved ones taught us.
