Recently sent to The Beat... Poem It’s been so long, since I’ve seen the streets. Taken by the system knocked off my feet. Demanded by officers, when to eat, shower and sleep, The strong survive, and I pray for the weak. Now is my time, to be released out the pen, I give my love. To the Beat Within, Fourteen different prisons, where I have been. Seventeen years, I’ve held my chin high in the sky, I made it through. Sentenced to death, I didn’t know what to do. 1997, was the worse sentence of my life, 2015 I’ll see some light. In 1997 inmate M. Fleming was eighteen years old and sentenced to death row at Florida State Prison. Now inmate Fleming is thirty-five years old housed in Florida at Santa Rosa C.I. pending to be released 2015 if it’s God’s will. It’s almost over, if he can do it, you can do it, to the struggle, stay strong. Man Down Murder was the case, Three murders no trace, The only thing about it, Who seen his face? No evidence in trial, It’s been a long while? The system is evil, Corrupted and file. I wish I can turn back the hands of time. It’s amazing how time flies And what I know now. I’ve tried and tried, And cried and cried, Throughout the years, a lot has died. I’ve lost my soul, and brought it back, I lost in trial, without a fact. Just because I was on the scene, Even if my hands was dirty or clean, Only if I understand, what the law means. I’ve never seen this, in a dream. I’m down on my knees, Asking God to rescue me, He sent His angels, to set me free… It’s almost over…
