Recently two of our neighbors told us it was cruel how much we exercise our dog. Dude is a two-year-old, 60-lb. lab/Dobie/Corgi mix we adopted in December. Its hot here in LA this time of year so his exercise happens either early morning or at dusk. We do a 10-mile mountain hike on weekends and shorter walks or bike rides during the week. He seems happiest when hes out on the move and were cognizant of heat, water, fatigue, etc., so I was surprised to hear our neighbors say that. Hes also much better behaved after a long walk, and exercise seems to help a ton with his main issue -- separation anxiety. Do you think were exercising him too much? How do you know the right amount of exercise for a dog?
