Recipients HCJK continues distributing relief among flood affected people Srinagar, Jan 15: Continuing its relief campaign Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) has organized one more camp here and distributed essential items including blankets and eatables among the flood affected people of district Srinagar. On the occasion, HCJK leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah and Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bita Karatey,Wajahat Qurashie ,Tasduq Hussain laway ,Mohamad Shafi and others were present and distributed relief material among the flood hit people from different localities of District Srinagar. Expressing solidarity with the flood affected people HCJK leader Shabir Ahmad Shah said since devastating floods hit the valley in September last year, the people are still craving for relief and rehabilitation. Expressing deep regret over the failure of administration in rehabilitating the flood victims, Shabir Ahmad Shah said though it was the prime responsibility of authorities to rehabilitate the people but so far they have only done lip service and nothing practical was done on ground. “They were only concerned of elections rather taking people out of this crisis.” Shah expressed deep concern over the fact that even during the harsh winters; authorities are still busy in their political activities and have left the people at the mercy of God. “They haven’t provided proper shelter to those who lost their dwellings and now live in tents.” HCJK leader further said, “Had Hurriyat leadership undertaken this relief activity in a joint manner, the results would have been different altogether. HCJK is trying its best to continue the campaign. Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah thanked those well-to-do individuals/groups who did their best to extend every possible help to flood hit brethren.
