Record keeping has been around since the times of cavemen. People drew pictures on cave walls to keep track of developments and stories. So record keeping has been around for some time. Accountants keep records that assist in assessing the ebbs and flows in the financial position of an entity. Accounts that are kept well assist in planning for the future as well as documenting the past. It follows that there should be a way of explaining gains or losses to people. How on earth would people know that there is an increase in cases of any disorder if records have not been kept in the first place? Interesting dilemma.
