“Record numbers relying on food banks, those who are ill or with disabilities terrified into humiliating back to work tests, years of pay cuts, pay freezes putting pressures on people’s budgets, closures of community assets like libraries and leisure centres. All of this people have had to suffer and yet the government books are still not balanced and the UK debt is £1.45 trillion and rising.” The only things back to pre-recession levels were the bankers’ bonuses and growth in the financial services sector providing rewards for the those who brought the country to the brink of economic collapse. “People across the British state are looking for an alternative to the broken Westminster system,” she said. “The Party of Wales wants to bring our government home to Wales so that we have the powers and levers to at least put us on par with our neighbours. Wales must have the power over its own natural resources, criminal justice and policing system and our government must be made accountable to the people for the money it spend on their behalf through transferring significant fiscal powers to Cardiff.”
