Red-Eye... at certain angles of incident bright light, the eye of some birds that normally show a darker color might appear to be reddish. This is due to reflection of light off the blood vessels in various structures -- most commonly the retina (and esp in the dark when the pupil is wide open), but at certain angles the iris might be involved -- as is the case here, where the iris is actually chestnut brown.
