Red Pierrot (Talicada nyseus) is probably the most beautiful butterfly of the family of blues (Lycaenidae). Being one of the common butterflies, we often fail to recognize the amazing wing patterns and colors. This butterfly lays eggs on Kalinchoe (Bryophyllum pinnatum), a common garden ornamental plant. The caterpillars most of the time stay inside the leaf and comes out to pupate under the leaf. I suggests butterfly enthusiasts to have this plant in the garden and enjoy the close vicinity of this beauty. Photograph taken at my residence at Ranjhi, Jabalpur
