Redmond Resolving Network Outage Effects [PRESS RELEASE] City of Redmond is working closely with a contractor’s insurance company after a construction crew accidently severed Frontier Communications’ fiber and copper cables at 15802 Bear Creek Parkway on Sept. 20. The incident caused outages to Frontier’s FiOS, phone, television and internet services in addition to the City’s public safety and public works facilities. Individuals who would like to begin the claims process for losses as a result of service interruption are asked to contact Redmond’s Risk Management Office at 425-556-2188. “The city is working to streamline the process for businesses and individuals who need to file claims,” said Mayor John Marchione. “It is our priority to ensure our community resumes regular operations as quickly as possible.” Frontier reports that NE 80th St. and NE 87th St. as well as Redmond Way and Cleveland Corridor are currently undergoing service restoration. FiOS and Copper Voice and Data networks have been fully restored in all other affected areas. Repair updates are listed at outage.frontier/Redmond-2014-09-20. To help impacted customers, Frontier is providing free public access Wi-Fi from 161st Ave. NE to 166 Ave. NE from Redmond Way to Cleveland Street. No password or authentication is required. #redmond
