Reference to today newspaper ad please send your suggestions to National Assembly Election reforms committee. You can email two officials on the following email address. email 1: sohaillodhi@hotmail email 2: [email protected] From my side these are main points but you people can amend them. Its our moral duty to play our active roles under the constitution. 1. Voters list should be based on NADRA record. The address, given in CNID should be considered for the enrolment in the constituency. If, somebody is interested in changing constituency s/he should get the card changed and not the list. 2. No separate voters list. NADRA record will serve as voters list 3. Electronic voting should be introduced. It should be like ATM of the banks. Instead of code, thumb impression will serve as identity. Once, I put my thumb on machine, my constituency should open. I shall scroll and put a thumb impression on my selected candidates symbol. I can cast my vote anywhere, it will go to constituency of my address. The machines should be placed on notified places. If, the machines are less, voting can be completed in phases like India. 4. The elected candidate must get more than 50% of the casted votes. For this a second round among two runner ups may be conducted. 5. Best thing is the proportionate voting system, where candidates vote in favor of parties rather than persons. It will prevent the so called indispensable personalities to create hurdles for the reforms programs. I do not know, probably it will require constitutional amendment. However, it will weigh every single vote and prevent the situation like PTI faced this time that it got less proportion of seats as compared to proportion of votes. Jamat-e-Islami suffers this type of anomaly every time and it has to make alliances with parties with whom the Jamat is not satisfied completely.
