Reform Process: Union Ministers Met Local And Foreign Medias ---------------------------------------------- Officials from the Presidents Office, the Ministry of Finance and Revenue and the Ministry of National Planning and Economic development met with local and foreign medias in Yangon on Sunday to discuss progress of reform process in Myanmar. At the meeting, officials explained economic development plan, financial sector, budget allocation, management of loans, taxation issues and among others. Director General, Ministry of Finance and Revenue, Min Htut: Taking advice from World Bank, IMF, US Treasury, we are trying to reform the taxation system. We opened a Large Tax Player Office on the 1st of April, 2014 and we will establish 3medium tax player offices and township small tax player offices, SAS system will be practiced by the 1st of April, 2015. We are also working to collect tax on special goods by enacting a law related to special commercial tax. For taxation, our ministry collected 3587 billion kyats in the last fiscal year and expects to collect 4000 billion kyats in this fiscal year. The Ministry of planning and economic development sets a plan to implement some projects joint Venture with Foreign companies.
