Regarding IDS.. He talks of independence yet the Conservatives do not trust educationalists to be independent in their direction of the UK education system therefore the Government has written the educational policy themselves, and he fails to understand that Government support can lead to someone being independent. He fails to understand that the actions of Government in allowing private companies to continue to increase their bills and introducing higher taxation decreases disposable income therefore reduces financial independence as people become more enslaved to private companies and taxation. I thought Conservatism was about reducing taxation to a substantial level? He says his role is akin to that of ending slavery. Isnt workfare and forcing people who are too unwell to work also a form of slavery? He also fails to understand that not everyone can be independent in the way that he visualise, and that relying on the private sector and charities to replace public sector services is wrong. This is nothing to do with freeing the public and helping the public and everything to do with the Conservatives disliking public spending and anything to do with public services.
