Regarding a comment on my last post. Just so Im clear. DUMB is an inflammatory and disrespectful word when used in most contexts. But especially when used to describe another persons perspective, opinion, etc. Lawanda Heard Daaaayum dumb?! What I like about the sweater analolgy is that a sweater is of no comparison to a human, yet we go into relationships with people so blindly & cavalier as if its a sweater that can be taken off, burned or destroyed, We cant & shouldnt treat our interpersonal connections with the same frivolity. And to keep it 100% some of us put more care into where & how we spend our money than into what kind of person or family or gene pool we are electing to partner with or create children from. Sidebar: you could have chosen another word in lieu of dumb. Its a name-calling word. And, if I took things personally, I would have been offended by it. Disagreeing is one thing, but calling someones opinion or point of view dumb, A: doesnt invite someone to be open to another point of view and/or dialogue B: it does not keep you open to get another perspective either.
