Regarding relationships, as children in Sunday school we learned - TopicsExpress

Regarding relationships, as children in Sunday school we learned the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. Im not going to retell the story here, but we know that Josephs brothers caused him a great injury. He suffered further injury, but because of his faithfulness to God, God was able to restore him and he was able to regain his family. Theres a lot of talk on Facebook about Karma, that what goes around, comes around. If someone hurts you, then later they will be hurt. What we see here instead is the expression of mercy, kindness, forgiveness, understanding, acceptance, and love. Joseph had the wisdom and maturity to understand that his brothers had changed. They had lived with the knowledge that they had wronged him, had broken up their family, and had caused the father immense pain because of their petty grievance. They no longer wished to do Joseph and further harm. They wanted a change. Had Joseph chosen Karma instead, it wouldve served no use for purpose but it wouldve implicated him in that now he would be guilty of the same offenses against his father. Theres a wonderful life lesson for us, there are relationships in which we are harmed. But over time, the circumstances and the people involved change. God can bring about a transformation in the relationship if we are sensitive to his direction. If we have the sensitivity that Joseph had, we can see a God-controlled transformation in the damaged relationships in our lives.
