Regardless of my personal opinions, from an objective point of view, the MB faces two choices. The first is acceptance the top/second tier of leadership is not coming back, and a reformation that enables the third tiers to come back to the political process (which itself is contingent on regaining the trust of people ... good luck.) The second, and apparently their preferred option, is violent escalation and proactive attempts to undermine the political process and internal security. This option will result in the extinction of the MB, not just as a political group, but also as a social movement. They can’t win militarily, and they can longer impose jack on the wider population, so the will have to terrorize the populous. If they do, they increase public anger against them, which in turn will translate into extrajudicial persecution of their ranks by everyday people (which is already happening). And, remember, while they are not an ethnic minority, occupying a geographic area; people know who MB members are in every neighborhood, where they live, what shops they own, where their kids go to school all across the country. If there are any sane people still among the MB, and who truly want to save this movement (for whatever reason), they need to do some serious soul searching. Egypt will survive this, but the Brotherhood will not.
