Regardless of where you stand in terms of whether Muslims should - TopicsExpress

Regardless of where you stand in terms of whether Muslims should get involved in the system or not, today is a sad day for Egypt. A secularist, Fitnah-stirring opposition is now in power. Many of these guys are out right atheists, some are nominally muslim, and unfortunately some sincere Muslims have joined their ranks (for whatever reason). The first two categories are a Fitnah - they hate Islam with a passion in its political aspect (if not generally) and their being in step with the Coptics is hardly a surprise. The Sheikh Al Azhar gives his blessing (in effect) to a outright secular coup, and the king of Saudi Arabia issues a statement supporting this. Whatever one thinks of the mistakes of Pr Morsi and/or the Brotherhood, this move is a clear show of force by the enemies of Islam, and lessons should be drawn from it. Many people are (unsurprisingly) asking whether it was all worth it - Egyptians on my wall saying things like "Screw the system" - there will be much debated generated on this notion. Be that as it may, may Allah give strength to the sincere believers of Misr through these times.
