Regine Velasquez-Alcasid touches the hearts of Batangueños Tribune Wires Saturday, 09 August 2014 Its been a while. I havent been to places for quite sometime after I gave birth. Its wonderful to meet your fans from the other parts of the country, Asias Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid said on the opportunity entrusted to her by GMA Network to tour several regions, banner a series of Kapuso Fans Day, and touch base with her supporters. In a recent interview during the celebration of the Sublian Festival in Batangas City, Regines sixth stop following her successful shows in Iloilo, Boracay, Vigan, Dagupan and Davao, the multi-talented singer expressed her happiness because everything just fell perfectly into place. Right now, perfect yung schedule for me and for the kind of lifestyle that I have. I only do this (Kapuso Fans Day) mga twice a month. Nagwo-work ako pero most of my time is really devoted for my husband and my child, tamang-tama lang, she shared. Beginning September, though, Kapuso viewers will see more of Regine as she is set to host the Networks upcoming reality-talent search Bet ng Bayan. Magiging busy pa lang ako pagpasok ng bagong show. It will run for three months and its not like a series where you have to tape for seven days. So I feel very blessed that I was given this kind of show because at least Im still able to be home and be with Nate, she said. Bet ng Bayan is GMAs newest reality-talent search, which is currently going round the regions to scour for the best local bets and bring them to Manila to compete with other exceptionally talented contestants. Meanwhile, the three-hour Kapuso Fans Day in Batangas City last July 24 was hosted by Kapuso comedians Boobay and Ate Redg, who opened the on-ground event with their humorous antics and witty remarks prior to holding various games and giving away of prizes. It was followed by exciting production numbers courtesy of Dading stars Glaiza de Castro, RJ Padilla and Benjamin Alves. First to take the stage was RJ who danced to the tune of Mr. Suave and Gentleman to the crowds delight. Next to perform was Benjamin who made the audiences hearts flutter with his romantic rendition of “Just the Way You Are” and “Crazy For You.” Glaiza, for her part, fascinated the crowd even more with her version of “Summertime Sadness” and “Royals.” Batangas City then saw the exceptional talent of the afternoons crowd-favorite, Regine, who wowed the audience, estimated at 3,000, with her ever-melodious voice chanting familiar lyrics of some of her signature songs such as Akoy Iyong-Iyo and Tuwing Umuulan. The excitement leveled up the moment she belted out her powerful vocals for On the Wings of Love together with the Sing a la Regine contest winner. After Batangas, Regine went to stage her seventh fans day in Bohol during the provinces celebration of the Sandugo Festival on July 27. Next stop for the Kapuso singer is Cebu which is set to happen on Aug. 15. Of the many places shes been, this is what she has to say: All of them were memorable. Highlights of the Networks participation in the Sublian Festival can be seen in a Lets Fiesta TV Special airing on Aug. 17 via all nine regional stations in Bicol, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Dagupan, Ilocos, General Santos City, Bacolod and Cagayan de Oro. tribune.net.ph/life-style/regine-velasquez-alcasid-touches-the-hearts-of-batanguenos
