Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner - 12HR Sequoia Hospital - Redwood City, CA 94062 JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary procedures as defined by departmental policies and procedures to newborns through geriatrics. Responsibilities include patient care, critical care, patient assessment and related patient care plans. This position also requires the utilization of advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations. The Respiratory Care Practitioner assists in the development of policies and procedures, patient protocols, education/coaching of nursing and support personnel, multidisciplinary patient care conferences and process improvement. EDUCATION:• Certificate of Completion from an accredited two year Respiratory Therapy Program preferred. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/TRAINING:• Current licensure by the State of California Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (CT RCP) • Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care or achieve registration within one year of hire date (RG RRT) • Certification in American Heart Association basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CT CPRBLS). • Certification in American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (CT ACLS) • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support • Completion of annual training and maintains required unit specific training.
