Regular customers and friends will often report to us about their experiences in newly-opened restaurants. They will mostly emphasize the negative aspects of those restaurants with such disdain, that I know they are trying to make us feel better and more confident about our standing with all of the new competitors in town. What they dont seem to realize is that the opposite is true: we want every restaurant to be a great restaurant! The whole dining climate of a city thrives and becomes energetic in proportion to the number of good dining choices it has. Bad, or even mediocre, restaurants dampen the enthusiasm that diners have for going out at all, and will slow restaurant volume across the business. Plus, it never hurts to have to up your game to stay competitive. A sports league wont fill the stands by adding talentless players!
