Rehab Day 9- Another day of intensive Therapy sessions! Wowsers, not one muscle on that doesnt hurt LOL. OT first thing this morning. They put me on a narrow table on my back, then they strapped me in. Then they grabbed the control and began to bring the table upright until Im Horizontal. At this point Im feeling a little bit like Frankenstein and waiting for someone to inject nuts and bolts into my neck LOL :-D I was asked to just feel the balance in my body in standing upright with the support of the straps. Next, I was asked to lean forward in my upper body in order to stretch the back. Second exercise was taking my right hand and crossing over to my leftside while reaching out to touch a ball. We did these on both sides of the body in order to get better range of motion. Finally, he lowered the table back down and we did lots of different stretches and rotations with the arms followed by trigger point massage. PT- we worked on just standing up and turning in place to the right and left. Second, I had to do small squats like going to sit in a chair. Last, we took the scooter outside in the beautiful Spring air and sunshine where I did 5 sessions of using the scooter. Great success today with lots of small breaks vrs big breaks My sweet little old lady Dot leaves tcomorrow and Im thrilled for her. All she can do is talk about Pattycake. Ohhhhh how she loves her dog :-) Im so impressed with the Highschool Nursing program students who have been interning here. They all are so sweet, professional, inquisitive and take what they are doing very seriously. Speaks volumes of the program they are in. What a blessing Feedback on Accupunture for you: Woke up this am with no pain in my ankle and no stomach pains. Whoo hoo! I will get the opportunity to do it again on Friday :-) We had a cute Cocker Spaniel here today in the Gym. I didnt get the chance to participate with her. I did however have the best view of watching patients eyes and spirits light up when they saw her. :-) So heartwarming to see their joy and observe new strength with focus/determination God bless all my fellow patients here as they embrace tomorrow and what it brings. :-)
