Relational Health: Marriage Picture of little girls pushing - TopicsExpress

Relational Health: Marriage Picture of little girls pushing their dolls around in baby strollers, gathering for tea parties. Picture of little boys wearing holsters and cowboy hats, playing with trucks and GI Joes. What is obvious? If you said that women are nurturers and relationship builders by nature, youd be correct. If you said that men are warriors, and conquerors and lone wolves by nature, youd be doubly correct. And if you said these significant differences might bring tension into a partnership like marriage, youd be triply correct. The average man will need help from his wife as to how to build and maintain a thriving relationship with her. Its simply not natural for us. We are warriors, savages, conquers, explorers, adventurers....and all too often once weve conquered you (Mrs. Wife) by getting you to pledge your undying loyalty to us in marriage, we fail miserably at building and maintaining a healthy relationship of continual pursuit of your heart....busying ourselves with the next big thing to win over. Any of this sounding like truth? If so, let me recommend a couple of excellent books that I think every couple should read: If Only He Knew...and For Better Or Best...both by Dr. Gary Smalley. Both sold at Barnes and Noble. Wouldnt this week end be a great time to breathe some new life into the old yous. Dr Dave Frahm, ND -- the Relationship Doctor
