Relationship. We are all “in relationship,” whether that be - TopicsExpress

Relationship. We are all “in relationship,” whether that be with other people, animals, nature, or God. And even if none of these apply, we are all certainly in relationship with ourselves. Relationship is full of both pleasure and pain. And at the core of relationship is love. Loving and being loved. This Facebook Page and my website is a result of my personal journey over many years. More specifically, it’s a result of what hasn’t worked in terms of getting me the love I claimed I wanted. So our task here is not to find love because love is limitless, but to find within ourselves all the barriers we have set up against love itself. I’ve studied, prayed, practiced meditation for many years, been an intermediate yoga student for several years, practiced Christianity (Spirituality) my entire life, and sought solace in the wilderness. All very helpful. But in all of these practices, the one factor that has been missing is relationship with God and another human being, the very ingredient that has the power to open us up to greater and greater experiences of love. Many spiritual traditions and teachers have talked a lot about love. But when push comes to shove, very few seem interested in teaching about the gritty, sometimes messy dynamics of relationship. And even fewer can actually walk the talk. Why is that? Probably because it’s so damn hard to come together with another person who mirrors and reflects what we most love and most disdain about ourselves. This FB page and my relationship-path (therapy and work) is about using relationship in and of itself as a daily practice, one that supports our development at every level of our being and opens us up to more love. Growth, healing, and wholeness are all available here. May your heart inspire mine to open further. Welcome to The Practice of Love. Joe
