FLOOD WARNING FOR COASTAL RIVERS AND ADJACENT INLAND STREAMS BETWEEN PORT DOUGLAS AND MACKAY Catchments at risk include the Barron, Mulgrave, Tully, Murray, Herbert, Ross, Bohle, Haughton, Lower Burdekin, Don, Proserpine and Pioneer Rivers. Issued at 6:11 pm EST on Tuesday 28 January 2014 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Issue Number: 1 Heavy rainfall is expected to develop along coastal areas from Port Douglas to Mackay later this week, associated with a monsoon low. Widespread daily rainfall totals of 100-200mm are expected on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Local falls of up to 400mm are possible on Thursday and Friday. River level rises above minor flood level are likely across the warning area later this week. Catchments at risk include the Barron, Mulgrave, Tully, Murray, Herbert, Ross, Bohle, Haughton, Lower Burdekin, Don, Proserpine and Pioneer Rivers. The situation will be closely monitored and individual catchment warnings will be issued if required. A Tropical Cyclone Advice is current between Port Douglas and Proserpine.
