Released from Prison Because of “Too Many Phone Calls” In March 2013, Alemayehu Legesse, a Bible school student in Ethiopia, was arrested for possessing literature that narrated Islam from a Christian perspective. ICC conducted an advocacy campaign on behalf of Alemayehu. Many of you called the Ethiopian consulate in the US and pressured them for his release. We learned that the Embassy decided to let him go because of “too many phone calls,” during our campaign! Although he is free now, Alemayehu still faces the false charges of criticizing Islam. ICC has been supporting Alemayehu’s legal battle. When ICC asked how to pray for Alemayehu, this is how he responded. “It is amazing for me to hear that others are praying for me and supporting me. Tell them that their prayers will encourage me to keep my commitment to God as an evangelist. Prayer is a powerful weapon. Thank you ICC!” (Photo: Photo of Alemayehu Legesse after receiving legal assistance from ICC in Ethiopia.) ow.ly/uJmnp
