Remember Athena the neglected puppy with mange. She is now healthy and ready for her forever home!! Athena came to SCR at approx 5/6 weeks old barely breathing, completely bald and covered in open sores due to advanced Demodex mange. She will always bare the scars of her terrible neglect of her first few weeks of life but she is healthy now. After spending a week at the vet she came to her current foster. She is currently 6 months old. Athena is a pit mix and very small for her age (pocket pittie) at only 27 pounds. It is not anticipated that she will get very big. She is extremely gentle and friendly and gives kisses all day long. She is dog and cat friendly and would do best with fur-siblings as she has never been without them. She loves people including children. She knows sit very well and is working on give paw. She is almost house trained with frequent and routine walks. She loves meeting new people and doggy friends while on walks. She has never been crated due to her health thus far. She is not furniture destructive but is teething so watch your socks and shoes! She is scheduled to be chipped and spayed in a week and will be ready to go a few days after that.
