Remember Leyland Live this weekend The two-day feast of live music, arts and drama is returning for a second year and will be held on Friday 5 July and Saturday 6 July, between 7pm and 11pm on both nights. The event, which is expected to draw thousands of people into the town, will feature everything from rock, pop, folk and jazz music to belly dancing, drama, poetry and dance No fewer than 160 performances can be seen at 20 venues in the town over the two nights. The youngest performer will be Connor Banks, who at the age of just 10 is already making a name for himself as a talented acoustic singer and guitarist. As well as a variety of live music, the line-up also includes three choirs, drama groups, the SambAfriq dancers and even a ventriloquist and a magician. Leyland Live! is sponsored and supported by South Ribble Borough Council’s Leyland My Neighbourhood Forum. Local firm APC Overnight has sponsored an outdoor stage at Peek-a-Brew in Hough Lane. Special wristbands costing £5, giving automatic entry to performances at all the venues on both Friday and Saturday nights, are now on sale from venues in the town.
