Remember Pre K when I pushed you into the sandbox and your favorite pail broke? I thought you’d cry and break mine, But you didn’t. . Or elementary when i blamed the volcano explosion on you, I figure you’d rat me out since you where bigger, Then you didn’t. . Or in middle school when I was so pissed that i tattled about your cigarettes, I was sure you’d stop talking to me then, But you didn’t. . Freshman year when I forgot to tell you that your crush wanted to meet you at Socials, I was sure you’d turn away, Then you didn’t. . Maybe Sophomore year when I pushed you into the pool… with your brand new phone, Thought you’d pull me in and leave, But you didn’t. . Junior year I tricked you into thinking the head cheerleader wanted to hook up behind the bleachers… and you got pneumonia instead, You were so sick I was sure I’d screwed up, This had to be the last straw, Surely you’d gather you things and officially pack up, Then you didn’t. . Maybe you’d ditch me Senior year when i put itching powder into your tux, Your date must’ve thought you were disgusting, I knew you really liked her so you’d classify our friendship as a royal mess up, But you didn’t. . All this and more , yet you still stood by my side, So i couldn’t wait to make this all up to you once you came home from Afghanistan… But then you didn’t.
