Remember the days producers & DJs were 2 separate things? Eddie Halliwell was the last in the scene I follow to hit the top only DJn. Completely different now. When youre coming through you make tunes to get gigs to play as a DJ, its mad haha. No one sees mixing as an art anymore, all about the tunes. Sad to see. Live performing & studio production have sadly fell into the same bracket with young producers these days. Very few have that presence on stage when playing a set. Decks arent a need anymore in most eyes because the banging tunes you make are considered enough for promoters to play gigs. Paris Hilton could give a few a run for their money haha. Ill always consider myself a DJ over producer, its the reason I love music so much in the first place. Both just as important as each other to my view when you get to a certain point where you are noticed!
