“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel. Malachi 1:4 (NIV) The laws given to Moses at Horeb also known as Mount Sinai were the foundation of the nation’s civil, moral, and ceremonial life. Deuteronomy 4:5-6: “See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.” We still must obey the moral laws, because they apply to all generations. Malachi was telling the Israelites to “Remember…the law of Moses.” Until the Son of Righteousness rises! The last message of the Old Testament was to remember the Law given to their illustrious leader, Moses. In the absence of prophetic voices, the Law is all the more important to remember as their rule of life and conduct. There will be no more prophetic ministry until the prophets come four hundred years later to intervene. Our conscience should bid us to remember the law. Even though we do not have not prophets, as long as we have Bibles, are able keep our communion with God. Others may boast in their proud reasoning, and call it enlightenment, but we are to keep near to the sacred word, through which this Sun of Righteousness shines upon the souls of his people. We are to keep on believing expectation of the gospel of Christ and must looking forward to His return.
