Remember: “to recall to the mind by an act or effort of memory; - TopicsExpress

Remember: “to recall to the mind by an act or effort of memory; think of again”. A word that some people would rather forget about in life, when the reality of it is that remembering when is the best part of life. As Christians we realize that loss can be a hard aspect of dealing with life if your walk is not strong. Not that strong Christians will not still have their own moments in time remembering things or memories of the past with tears of joy and sorrow amongst their own walk in life. The difference is that the strong Christian realizes that having that positive walk together with their spouse in just a few short years, (10 years), was a true blessing from God to the both of them, the one that passed on to God and Heaven and the one left behind to share the beautiful memories of life and push on with their Christian Walk and faith in life. Psalm 16:9-11 “No wonder my heart is glad and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever”. Remembering 10 years is a lot of typing. I will only highlight parts of this year 2014. Heather loved to get away even if it was just local. January 2014, we both sat in lawn chairs looking down a hill from an elevation of 500’ near Palestine, Texas looking into the distance and visioning the overall projects for our land. February 2014, my cousins wedding in Phoenix, Arizona with an awesome resort view into the mountains of Arizona. April 2014, another great stay at our Galveston, Texas resort for a week of just being together and walking the beach together day or night. May 2014, Heather pulling off Taylor’s graduation at the chapel at our home church. May 2014, my other cousins wedding which spawned the Best Family Fun Photo’s ever with Heather, Taylor, Megan and Dad… June 2014, trip to Great Wolfe Lodge with entire church staff and our families. June 2014, back to Galveston resort for 4 days with the girls this time and the Pleasure Pier all day and night event. July 2014, 6 days together for our 7th Anniversary on July 7, 2014 at Canyon Lake and all the daily excursions we took together, plus feeding 12-24 deer everyday from our patio window. August 2014, we both drove Taylor out to Nebraska to get her started at college. The last picture of the three of us ever (Heather, Taylor and Dad) - Heather had tears as we drove off that night… September 2014, her 6th cruise, but the first cruise with her best friend Michell from church. October 2014, I stood near by Heather waiting to bring her gracefully home to bury her. November 2014, laying her to rest in Houston National and honoring her with the “Final Taps”. December 31st, 2014 visiting the graveside of Heather with a close friend of ours as we place a single US Flag by the marker to closeout 2014… Thank you Heather for all the great times and memories in 2014 and all those previous years. Love you… A lot of different events and great moments of life in 2014. We need to all look deeper into our daily walks of life with family and friends. Are you truly spending the quality time with your close ones throughout the year? If not, how will you change that for 2015? Will you take the time to share and tell others that you care for, love them and are there for them no matter what? Time comes and goes to quickly people. You cannot make up time from the past; you can only make time now in the present. I want to closeout 2014 with a huge thank you to my family, CLC Staff and Church Members, Tres Dias, Ellington FD, 147th RW, Frontier Camp, Spring FD, BNI, TWFG, Houston County VFD, etc… for being there for me and the girls and continuing to be of support over the next few months into this new year. I want to personally thank one other close friend who has stood by my side through this over the past two months. You have been a true Christian Friend and Angel through this for me with getting back to work, being there for the girls and just being yourself whenever it counted for me. I look forward to great times in 2015 and thank you for your unconditional friendship in all that has passed… Heather would be proud of how you stepped up to the plate like she mentored you over the years… God Bless and Semper Fidelis… “All In, All the Time, Every Time” – God is Able – “Don’t Ignore Him - Spending Time, Doing Life Together” Song of Day: “Remember When” Alan Jackson
