Remembering some of my favorite birthdays! 1. All the sleepovers - TopicsExpress

Remembering some of my favorite birthdays! 1. All the sleepovers I had as a child/teen. Staying up all night eating puppy chow and Cheetos, all cramming into our big guest bed downstairs, playing Nintendo all night and just being silly girls. Thankful for the good friends I had as a child and that I am still in contact and great friends with them today. 2. My freshman year of college I did not receive a phone call from my parents all day. I couldnt believe they had forgotten my birthday. Then that night when I went to dorm devotions there was a huge birthday cake from my mom waiting for me! Great surprise and my Mom said she couldnt call me all day cause she didnt want to give away the surprise! :) 3. My Junior year my roommates and I all went to Milwaukee shopping and out to eat. It was fun to celebrate with my great college friends. 4. My first date with James. He asked if he could take me out for ice cream. I gave him the courtesy first date yes. This was quite the date to remember and many of you have already heard this story. (quick version - no idea where the ice cream store was that he wanted to go to, ended up at the ice cream shop at Jacksonville landing - they were closed - in a way only James can do he talks them into selling us ice cream anyways - they only take cash - he doesnt have any, the date continues with more fun stories!) It took about 4 months but he finally convinced me that it was a good idea to date him ;) 5. A year after this crazy date he takes me out again for my birthday. (We had been dating for about 8 months at this point) This time it wasnt a courtesy! We went to the beach and had a nice Italian dinner at a fancy restaurant (cant remember the name) and then went for a nice walk on the beach. A few minutes into the walk James says Hey look at the moon - there is a nice ring around it. I look up and sure enough there was a lighted ring around the moon. I turn back and there is James on one knee. Yes, he asked me to marry him on my birthday and of course I said YES! 6. Birthdays like today will go down in my memory book as well. Watching my three oldest bubbling with excitement because it is Mommys birthday. The many hugs, kisses, drawings, a box wrapped up with their left over halloween candy, hearing Daniel yelling Happy Happy Happy Birthday Mommy!!!, Michael and Katelyn cleaning the living room for me to surprise me when I woke up, a husband who truly spoiled me today, good friends who kept our kids so we could have a date, many facebook birthday wishes all make today a day to remember! * Thank you Lord for another year of life. This is something that the older I get I am learning not to take for granted. Thank you Lord for the privilege of living out my dreams - being a wife and a Mommy. Thank you Lord for loving me despite my faults. I pray that this year I will grow closer to the Lord, be a Godly example to my children and be the wife that God wants me to be.
