Remembering those who have given their lives for the freedom we enjoy today Remembrance Sunday will see civic representatives, service men and women, and the public attend events in Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Immingham and villages across the borough on November 10. The Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Councillor Peggy Elliott, will attend the Cleethorpes ceremony with her consort Mr Steve Elliott. The Grimsby event will be attended by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Alex Baxter JP, and his Deputy Mayoress Mrs Ann Baxter. In Immingham Councillor David Bolton will lay a wreath on behalf of the citizens of North East Lincolnshire. Cleethorpes programme 09.10 a.m. The Kingsway Printers Cleethorpes Band, Standard Bearers and representatives assemble at Cleethorpes Market Place. 09.20 a.m. Parade marches off under direction of Parade Commander (Walter Marshall) 09.30 a.m. Civic Party take salute at the Town Hall steps. 09.35 a.m. Parade enters Church and civic guests arrive at St Peter’s Church 09.40 a.m. Civic Party arrive and enter St Peter’s Church 09.42 a.m. Clergy and Senior Dignitaries enter the Church followed by Standard Bearers 09.45 a.m. Service of Remembrance in the Church. 10.45 a.m. Clergy to move to War Memorial, followed by Standards. 10.45 a.m. Civic Party process to War Memorial. 10.50 a.m. Parade Form up St Peter’s Avenue. 11.00 a.m. Two minutes silence observed. 11.05 a.m. Wreath laying commences. 11.25 a.m. Civic Party proceed to Cleethorpes Remembrance Gate. 11.27 a.m. Parade Marches off, past Town Hall to Remembrance Gate. 11.37 a.m. Parade halts centrally to Remembrance Gate. 11.40 a.m. Mayor lays a wreath at Remembrance Gate on behalf of the Borough of North East Lincolnshire. 11.45 a.m. Mayor addresses the Parade. 11.50 a.m. Parade dismissed by Parade Commander. Note: Following the service at St Peters Church, the Parade will proceed to the Remembrance Gate, where a wreath will be laid and the parade will be dismissed following an address by the Mayor. Only members of the Parade/Veterans & Civic Dignitaries are invited back to Cleethorpes Town Hall for a buffet reception. Cadet Forces are invited for buffet upstairs in the RAFA club. Grimsby programme 9.15 am Standard bearers assemble at Grimsby Minster west door 9.25 am Civic party arrives 9.30 am Remembrance service begins 10.15 am Parade forms in St James’ Square 10.20 am Parade marches off down Brighowgate down onto Bargate then on to the cenotaph 10.50 am Parade arrives at cenotaph 10.58 am Exhortation 10.59 am Bugler sounds last post 11.00 am two-minute silence 11.02 am Bugler sounds Reveille 11.03 am KOHIMA Epitaph 11.04 am Wreath lying begins followed by a blessing from the chaplain and the National Anthem The parade reforms and marches around Nun’s Corner, along Bargate, into Westwood Ho, where it is halted and dismissed. Please note, there are likely to be road closures or diversions in place across the borough on Sunday morning because of the parades.
