Remembrance Day SMH 1926 Sleeping citizens of Sydney who resided near Woolloomooloo Bay in the days of war were often awakened In the grey light of dawn by the strains of a military band, and if they looked out of their windows they saw men in khaki marching down to the wharf in the he bay; mothers and sisters and sweethearts hurrying along beside them. The gates became a shrine for pinning wreaths. Poppy photo- Christine Pearson
