Reminder for tomorrow night. As you know, the Western end of Harnett County has experienced an unusually high number of violent incidents in recent days. Our community is unsettled, frightened, and concerned. Our community should be unsettled, frightened, and concerned. After speaking with our sheriff, Larry Rollins, elected officials and civic leaders from our community and members of the clergy, Im calling for a community wide prayer and peace summit to be held at SHUMC this Monday evening, August 4th, at 7pm. Law enforcement personnel will be on hand to update us on recent events and offer input on self protection. Also, area civic leaders and other church communities are invited to join us, so we, as a community, might come together for a time of prayer and seek Divine intervention in the brokenness and hurt were experiencing.
