Remnant prayer journal: 2013. 08.02 Imparting what is unique Acts 2:1~4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (4) ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #251 Marvelous Grace of Our Loving Lord (#137 in previous version) When you have the mystery of happiness that no one else knows about, you desire to share this with those around you. The Gospel is no different. When you meditate upon the Word and experience the power of God through prayer, you yearn to share this mystery with others. By sharing the unique Gospel that is absent in the world to someone else, true evangelism takes place. In the 21st century, which is filled with the forces of darkness, the only way to save others is through Jesus Christ. Then how can we share this unique way with others? 1. The answer of the Pentecost The Pentecost is a feast when Jews gather together. On that day, the disciples who had gathered together at the Mount of Olives held onto the covenant of the kingdom of God and the filling of the Holy Spirit that they had heard from Jesus and prayed together. At that moment, they experienced the power and working of the Holy Spirit that God bestowed. Disciples to save the region were raised, and the unique covenant of Jesus Christ was relayed to those who were yet unsure of the Gospel. When you meditate upon the Word of God and receive the filling of the Holy Spirit, you will receive the answers of the Pentecost. 2. Persecution of Stephen Although Stephen was an evangelist with the Gospel, he was martyred by those who persecuted Christians. At that time, the believers with the Gospel were scattered throughout the region. Persecution became a great way for evangelism to take place. Through the disciples with the Gospel who were scattered everywhere, the unique Gospel was shared with everyone. Crisis became an opportunity to enjoy answers and problems became channels to experience the works of God. 3. The time schedule to save the world God opens the way for the believers who meditate upon the Word of God and follow His plan. In Romans 16, the believers shared the Gospel to whomever they met and through them, the doors of missions were opened in every nation of the entire world. These individuals realized the reason why God had sent them to their respective fields and they also realized their personal contract; they saw God’s time schedule. The disciples who perceived this became the doors of evangelism to save the world. Forum Topic Pray that the Holy Spirit that worked upon the Early Church during the Pentecost works within you today. Pray to see the great path of evangelism that is hidden within today’s difficulties, crises, and problems.
