Remnant prayer journal: 2013.08.19 Start of the true church Acts 1:12~14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. But the evangelism movement that transformed the whole world began there. The people who gathered in Mark’s upper room thought at first that they were weak and powerless. But actually, they were the beginning of the first church that God had prepared. Consequently, they could not be destroyed. Likewise, we are evangelists called by God in this age. What kind of blessings must we enjoy? 1. Beginnings of a church Everyone who gathered in Mark’s upper room confessed that Jesus was their Christ. Because of this, God gave them strength even though they stumbled and He promised to be with them by giving them all authority in heaven and earth. Mark’s upper room was a gathering of people who enjoyed the Gospel−essentially, the seeds of the church. The Early Church was founded when people who embraced the covenant in their hearts gathered together in Mark’s upper room, and as a result, they did not crumble in this world even in the face of great hardships. If the church begins on the right foot, by being fourded solly on the Gospel, God will absolutely work. 2. Answers to save lives There is no need to worry about illnesses if you have a cure. The same is true with the Gospel. If Jesus Christ, the solution to everything, is with us, there is no need to fear any difficulties or problems. The members of Mark’s upper room did not have a special skill or asset; however, they held onto Jesus Christ, the solution to all problems. The life-saving movement began when they restored their spiritual strength while enjoying the kingdom of heaven. 3. Greatest strength The 66 books of the Bible are God’s promises to us. Jesus Christ, who had been prophesied in the Bible, came to the earth, and the Word was fulfilled. Additionally, God promised through the Bible to give His children the work of the Holy Spirit and answers like the wind and fire. We are witnesses of Christ, appointed by God Himself. God will give us spiritual strength and evidences that prove He is alive in order for us to stand firm.
