Removal of the old water tower at Eastmark began on Friday by removing the water tower from its foundation and laying the water tower on its side. This is a redevelopment site and our partner Reclamation Sciences has been removing and recycling all of the facilities and tracks on site as we develop Eastmark. Removal of the tower has been planned for years as part of our redevelopment. The city and state’s offices of historical preservation didn’t find anything on site at Eastmark that they felt was of historical value or significance. However, we understand that there may be entities who might like to see this water tower preserved. As such, Reclamation Sciences is disassembling the water tower, storing it on site and making it available to any group that is interested in relocating and preserving it.
