Renowned historian Romila Thapar writes in her book ancient India that in early Vedic period cow was a precious animal. One human life was equivalent to 100 cows. People were non vegetarian. Beef used to be served to special guests. Later on the brahmins prohibited non vegetarian diet. The RSS did not like such versions of history. Now in Dinanath Batras Indianised history book children will be taught that the favorite food in Vedic and post Vedic period were Malai Kofta, Palak Paneer and Shahi Paneer.
