Renowned religious scholars expressed their opinion that intolerance and deviation from the true Islamic teachings were the main reasons for Pakistan’s current problems. Speaking in SAMAA’s current affairs program, “Nadeem Malik Live’, Dr. Amir Liaquat Hussain said that “we lack tolerance and patience. The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) also preached tolerance and forbearance throughout his life.†“We need to stop imposing our ideology on others by force and use of violence,†he said. To a question, he said that those who were carrying out attacks on security forces and innocent people should be openly condemned as non-Muslims and terrorists. Dr. Amir Liaquat further said that terrorists want to impose their ideology and Sharia by force. Speaking on this occasion, Junaid Jamshed said that deviating from Sunnah and non-compliance of Islamic teachings had taken us to this situation. Jamia Binoria chief Mufti Muhammad Naeem said that “The nation should jointly seek Allah’s forgiveness.†To a question, he also said that suicide attacks and killing of innocent people and security forces were wrong act. – SAMAA
