Reply to Paul: Apologies, that this explanation is delayed. As a Legal Practitioner I understand perfectly the need to make clarity whenever that is in issue. And because you have asked, you also have the right to know. Likewise any other interested party in this group. Note that, the explanation I’m about to proffer is in no way exhaustive. With time, other people in this group might make additions as the case may be. Now, in very clear and simple terms, it is thus: this group may on the face appear to be hilarious. You will agree with me that the name itself is comical but catchy as well because it attracts your attention on the spot. The motivation behind making this group is akin to the Darwin’s theory of evolution, where something good will just evolve and take shape without a pre-plan. The purport of this group unlike other regular facebook groups, is to holistically connect and link up friends, professional colleagues and acquaintances with “like minds” (so if your mind is not like ours, you are free to leave) across Nigeria. In an economy that is growing down while we are growing up, it is pertinent that we stick together; “strength in numbers”, that is our weapon. This weapon is not for antagonism, dissent, pessimism, rather, for the pursuance of a high degree of social, economic and political responsibility. In essence this group through its collection of members will aimed to provide a platform where people can generate support (by receiving connections and finance) for their political aspirations, build their professional careers (by receiving tips and finance), get recommendations on job opportunities etc, where such beneficiaries are able to show that their intentions and interest with which they sought support is GENUINE. NOTE that membership is absolutely voluntary and the only requirement for one to be a member, contribute, participate and benefit is YOUR GOOD CONSCIENCE. Believe me or not you will see the need to be part of this networking in due course. Also, where any of your rights have been infringed upon; or there is a perceived wrong done to you or your privies, by any individual or organization, the group will attempt to redress that wrong on your behalf on your EXPRESS permission and information for free. Now let me answer your questions. 1. On political ideology: no political ideology will be adopted here. Our aim is to build and not to divide. However, this group will be a part of any political party, political movements, campaign groups etc, where it is invited to do so. The reason is that if we are to contribute and push for social uprightness and responsibility, push for attention our own demands for things to be done in a certain way for the general good, then it is absolutely necessary for the group to be a part of the political systems, institutions and organizations. Hence the acceptance to affiliate with the Goodluck Support Group (GSG). We hope to receive invitations from other such groups as well. 2. On Religion and Religious belief: we wish to advise ourselves and everyone, please KEEP YOUR RELIGION, RELIGIOUS BELIEFS AND RELIGIOUS PRACTICES AT HOME. 3. On Social and Administrative ideology: I have already stated above the objectives of this group, which I believe has provided an answer to a certain extent on this issue. Like I said earlier, it is for people of like minds; people who are not guided by greed and self righteousness, but by a high sense of social responsibility, growth, and empowerment and by using our numbers to protect, encourage, support, elevate anyone who can provide a GENUINE interest in something that is good. Now to forestall fraud, mischief, and any unwanted misapplication of these objectives, there are stringent but easy to provide modalities which an individual will have to provide. And such information or modalities having been satisfied will be displayed for potential contributors to see. Where thats is done, it will be the responsibility of everyone here to contribute and contribute we must. These modalities will be explain in due course.
