Reply to TCD triumphant newsletter about Obama visit... Dear TCD alumni, As a graduate I do not share your excitement about the visit of Michelle Obama. As a representative of a regime which is engaged in torture and the flouting of human rights throughout the globe, I find it extremely distasteful that TCD facilitated her visit, essentially a PR tactic to divert attention from the G8 summit, one which also cost the Irish state a lot of money which could have been better spent rectifying the large inequalities that still exist in Irish education. The Obama administration or their representatives do not deserve the hospitality and photo op afforded to them on this occasion. With great disappointment and shame at the ideological direction being taken by TCD,
