Reports: Luis Suarez set to tell Liverpool he wants Arsenal move SE | July 21, 2013 | Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is reportedly poised to tell the Reds that he wants to move to Arsenal this summer, according to reports in Metro. Liverpool are bracing themselves for Suarez to ask them to let him go when the Uruguayan striker flies from Montevideo to the club’s training base in Melbourne this weekend. Arsenal are growing increasingly hopeful they can do the deal and are likely to go back with an improved bid once they know whether Suarez reports up and the potential fall-out. The Gunners have already had a bid in the region of £30m rejected for the Uruguay international after the 26- year-old stated that he wanted to leave the Merseysiders at the end of last season. Arsene Wenger is ready to fork out £40m which according to this source would be enough to trigger Suarez’s release clause though the Merseyside outfit claim that the clause only requires the club to inform the former Ajax man of such a bid rather than compelling them to sell, which would seem an off type of, almost pointless, clause to have written into a player’s contract. Suarez had initially said he would not join another Premier League club and wanted to escape the British press, but seems to have changed his stance after Real Madrid made it clear they would not offer more than £25m for the player. Suarez netted 30 goals in all competitions last season and will be suspended for six matches at the start of the season as he sees out the ten match ban he received after biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. Despite Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers revealing that Suarez would stay at the club, the striker will force their hand by admitting that he wants a move to Emirates Stadium, if Arsene Wenger’s side can match his £40m valuation. Suarez is a player whose is at the peak of his powers and is certainly one of the best striker in the Premier League and in world football. He is just the caliber of striker Arsenal needed after the departure of Van Persie. He is really the complete package good with both feet, comfortable with his head, lethal from set pieces, very skillful and most importantly, will easily fit into the free flowing football ethos that has been enshrined at Arsenal by Wenger. Suarez has had a highly controversial time in England, with the Patrice Evra racial abuse case and then the biting incident involving Branislav Ivanovic, and these events have smeared his reputation in the country. The report also suggests that there would be no problem with Suarez in the Arsenal dressing room and they respect him as hard working. It is now looking likely that the deal might actually happen if Arsenal meet his £40m valuation and with Suarez also suggesting he want leave it looks like Arsenal fans will finally get their wish of seeing big name signing. Would you welcome Suarez to Arsenal?
