Reports suggest that 10 people were shot and many among them dead in an attack on Naval base in the US capital, Washington, DC. It is believed that more than one gunman was involved with many reports suggesting that number to be three. It is believed that one of the aggressors has been down. People in and around the locality are asked to be in shelter-in-place. In all likelihood this has nothing to do with gun violence in the US. Though speculative at this moment of time, this could possibly be an act of terror. If crazy people are ready to risk sacrificing their lives then they can kill few in any kind of state; Western or non-Western. The US even if it evolves into a kind of overregulated security-conscious police state cannot stop such attacks. Obviously, some would blame it on gun lobbies for not accounting for changing consciousness and demography of the US and those of the globe. But in reality this is indeed not the case. Even if second amendment to the US Constitution is partly amended, such a drastic curtail on individual liberty and freedom, unfortunately, cannot stop such violence.
