Repositioning BUSH HOUSE NIGERIA! 1.0 With celebration of her - TopicsExpress

Repositioning BUSH HOUSE NIGERIA! 1.0 With celebration of her 11th anniversary on air now over, the time has come to seek ways of raising the bar of BUSH HOUSE NIGERIA yet again. To be sure, plans to reposition the Compelling Radio Series had already been afoot long before the drums rolled out for the 11th anniversary. If anything, the anniversary only increased the deafening decibels for more changes as speaker after speaker at event after event revealed that people from all over the country appreciate those little things BUSH HOUSE NIGERIA does on air, online and on earth! 2.0 Dont let me bother you with details of all those sweet-nothings. I wish though, you had been present when OPERATION KEEP OUR PUBLIC PLACES CLEAN arrived at Garki Hospital. Personally, nostalgia dealt with me big time all the time those young and old, beginning and arrived Nigerians joined me to pack all those dirts at the hospital. Streams of tears blurred my sight (thankfully, not my vision) as memories of BUSH HOUSE HOSPITALS flooded me. For those who may not know, BUSH HOUSE HOSPITALS was yet another of our media creations. It entailed me leading members of BUSH HOUSE FAN CLUB INTL, as it then was, on a cleaning spree of all hospitals in Akwa Ibom State. Then, we would assist with bills for all patients in the visited hospital. These and more were then packaged as an hour-long tv programme. I thought it was such a great show, BUSH HOUSE HOSPITALS. This juncture is not a bad spot to ask that a posthumous standing ovation be given to the late Pastor Oyong Asuquo, the sole sponsor of BUSH HOUSE HOSPITALS. Such a shame that BUSH HOUSE HOSPITALS has been off air, years now. Why? No sponsorship! 3.0 Next, BUSH HOUSE SCHOOLS, that didactic apartment which used to open on all the nine editions of BUSH HOUSE NIGERIA. After I shouted for months to no avail; praying people who could afford it to step up and rescue BUSH HOUSE SCHOOLS, I simply approved that it be partially shut (that is, broadcast only once a week)! 4.0 Again, it was funding or the lack of it that deprived society of that free knowledge-sharing platform. The same culprit also killed or maimed other beautiful apartments such as BUSH HOUSE CYBER, 20 QUESTIONS and the pan-Nigerian aerial contribution called PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK, among others. The beat goes on. But, no; I shall not allow it; not anymore. I should not take credits for my new posture, though. The credits, laced with apologies, must go to Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok and our other diehard fans who have consistently suggested we devised other ways of raising funds, rather than wait endlessly for sponsors who never show up. This had never appealed to me; well, until last Saturday on Network Radio when Ada, calling from Jos, said it the way no one had! 5.0 Accordingly, I have directed our programmes chief to restore all apartments suspended because of no sponsorship, with effect from 1st August. Meaning: whether sponsors come or not, BHS is coming right back on all editions. Awesome. What better way to launch out as we prepare for our 12th Anniversary! 6.0 For those who didnt follow that Network Edition, here is the deal. BUSH HOUSE NIGERIA is now to be run as a PLC: the Peoples Programme is now fully handed to them. On no account shall we who hold it in trust ever hold back more education, more information and more entertainment from the programme just because of no sponsorship. The people are now to sponsor their programme. As advised, heres the Account No.: BUSH HOUSE MEDIA Ltd. 2291593011, FCMB. No savvy but I want to join Arc. Nya-Etok. Ada et al to believe that allowing people/fans to contribute what they can, to sustain their programme on air, online and on earth, is better than waiting for Godot; sorry, is better than waiting for Sponsors. By the way, I can almost name the first person to pay in! 7.0 So, there you are, People. You must join the movement to keep your programme on air. I have also directed for the account details to go on air. When things go well, expect to have a quarterly presentation hereat of income (whats been received) and expenditure. Contributors who prefer to remain anonymous must say so by smsing me directly: 08022243021. Right now, it costs well over N15m quarterly to run the programme (covering air time, production, salaries, overhead, etc)! 8.0 Funding BHN shall attract more benefits (on air, online, on earth) to our society. In the short term, we plan ON EARTH to re-kickstart OPERATION KEEP OUR PUBLIC PLACES CLEAN, nationwide. Members of our NGO arm, BUSH HOUSE FAN FOUNDATION, across the country, have since been ready to volunteer in the weekly campaign but we need to buy them sanitation kits and equipment. We can do so soon. We are working to achieve a partnership with Abuja Environmental Protection Board, Mary-Elika Foundation and allied agencies everywhere in Nigeria. We need to help governments and ourselves to keep Nigeria clean. ONLINE, we need more presence. And ON AIR, we shall widen our reach. To complement our Network effort, which unfortunately, is only once a week, we should buy an hour once a day or two or so on FM stations in South West and South East. We already have an agreement with at least two stations! 9.0 In the long term, we will also look at the possibility of using stations in North West and North East. Our programme can bring peace to that troubled zone. What even stops us from increasing our Network frequency! 10.0 Now, heres something that will blow your mind. When fans actually start to fund the programme, I have a framework they would love to hear. It is called BUSH HOUSE INTERNATIONAL. Stop shouting, please. As I write, I am already in London to see things for myself with a view to checking out possibilities. With fans supporting, we can start off with UK for Europe; then to US for the Americas; then to Asia, etc. Nothing is impossible. It will be nice, very nice, for a Nigerian who loves Nigeria to report Nigeria to the world while simultaneously reporting back home on Nigerians who are abroad doing our country proud. Who is in this with us, please? At no time than now has Nigeria been more in dire need of positive media, at home and abroad. BUSH HOUSE INTL can lead the way. For obvious reasons, I cannot venture with more details than I have! 11.0 As we progress, depending on how things pan out, we can return to live TV, even on Network. Its a crying shame that BHN started on TV but has not been on the screen in the last four years; just because of cost. How painful; when you cannot offer society the excellence you have, simply because you cannot pay for the platform. Our fans can join hands to make it happen! 12.0 Finally, on our part, WE SHALL NEVER GIVE UP OR DESPAIR. We shall keep at our best, pushing the buttons with our creativity and pro-Nigerianness. One more thing, I have directed the lady at the helm of our administration to show staffers who are not ready for the next level the door. May I therefore use this opportunity to PERSONALLY INVITE ANYONE WHO BELIEVES HE/SHE CAN ADD OPTIMUM VALUE TO THE NEW BHN. Such a one can talk with me directly on the number I gave earlier. I, Michael BUSH, am ready for the new deal. Are you? God bless Nigeria?
