Repost: October 5, 2014 We constantly wait in anticipation for a miracle to happen in our life, unaware that the miracle is actually life itself. — Daniel Chidiac Today is another day. We are all lucky to be given another day to live. If you didnt get a chance to seize your moments yesterday, you are lucky to have been given another chance. The most important thing that one can do is embrace the moments you are in- even if it may be insignificant to you. If you can savour every instant by being completely aware of who you are with, what you are doing, what you are saying, what the other is saying, where you are... The importance is that you recognize that you are in complete control of your life as it stands at this very second. Take a deep breath and allow this simple truth to sink in. I know to some of you it may not be anything- but to others, the notion of realizing this very moment and allowing it to register and be recognized is what makes this truth real. We do day to day things. Wake up, brush our teeth, have a coffee, get ready for the day and continue with the routine of our everyday lives. When people ask us: How was your day? We respond: Like any other day, nothing special. We train our minds to react like robots. We lack emotion and we blind ourselves from seeing what is right there in front of us because when it becomes routine, we take for granted the beauty and miracle of lifes simplicities. Now take the same day, same routine, but the only difference is that you make yourself AWARE of everything happening and you make yourself CONSCIOUS of the things you see and hear and you make the EFFORT to be PRESENT. Now it is no longer nothing special but it is everything and anything and thats what makes the difference. We lose ourselves in our routine. And sometimes, just like reading a book, instead of reading words fully, we skim through it and we miss the point. Its the same for life, we see things like skimming and we fail to see the details. We fail to see the miracle. We fail to realize that this could be the last day we live and it wasnt enough. But it could be enough if you just make the effort and stop taking for granted everything that is of value to our lives. So when someone asks you How was your day? I dare you to find just any reason out of your simple routine and highlight it because it is worth high lighting. People die everyday and the regret remains for those left behind: I could have done more when they were alive, I could have connected more with the ones I love. Instead of finding out this truth at the end of the line, why not apply it everyday? Make someones day by showing love, that way you are changing their routine and making it significant. And by adding your consciousness, you will see that even simple kindness can change your perspective and you will see that everyday is a miracle in itself. ❤️ Karen A. Baquiran
