*Repost as ive accidentally deleted the original post.* Who must change? The system or the people? With the influx of foreign workers in Singapore, one has to wonder what good it brings. In fact, public transportation are now filled up to the brims, people in groups or phone talking loudly in public as if an asteroid is going to land on Earth.. Riots that has never took place here for the past 44 odd years, and the list will just add up... Did we feel threatened? Are we less tolerant now? Has the xenophobic term been planted into our minds that we relate the term to any alien we see on our motherland? Well, land are divided into different tribes and cultures. Is this land that we are on really ours? At the end of the day, if we were to criticize the outsiders for clogging up a little bit of our freedom and space, those people may just be our brothers of the same religion.. The Bangladeshis may pray in the same mosques as we do... The Filipinos that we may hate may be heading as imams in our prayers. Well never know. Nevertheless, some actions done by these people are really overboard. For instance, the recent poo activity at Holland V MRT. No further comments on that. The point is, one rotten apple doesnt necessarily spoil the whole basket. We shouldnt judge people based on where they come from, what colors their skin are. We should not even categorize them but value them as individuals. If a Melayu is a Melayu, then all melayu will probably be relaxing on a corner, guitars in their hands and smoking weed. No? Wallahuallam.
