Reposting from Dock Daniel... We have two MCHS graduates and decorated American Soldiers coming home. Eric Brashears, MCHS class of ’91, is CW4 in the Army Special Forces and has been serving for 20 years. He has been deployed to Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and other hostile regions of the world, often times multiple trips have been made to these regions. Jason Brashears, MCHS class of ’95, is 1SG in the 82nd Airborne, a Jump Master who has been deployed to or stationed in Korea, Italy, Iraq and Afghanistan. These two brothers last met a couple of years ago in Afghanistan for a day, Eric was leaving and Jason just arriving for a marathon tour. Eric has been in Germany with his wife and five children for the past three years. They are coming home to the States. Jason, his wife and three children are stationed at Ft. Bragg. It will be the first time these brothers have had a chance to see each other at length along with nieces, nephews, in-laws, siblings, parents and grand-parents. What a special time this is sure to be. We will be celebrating this homecoming on Saturday, July 13th at 4 PM in front of the Courthouse on Market Street in Mt. Carmel. They will proceed down Market Street where all will have the opportunity to wave flags, hold signs and welcome these families home and to thank them. A reception at the Eagles will follow at 5 PM. The Brashears family was like my second home, Eric and I were best friends from Kindergarten on. Roscoe and Marty and their daughter Tori need to be thanked and appreciated as well.
