Reposting my open letter to Government authorities....and for our brothers and sisters of the Indigenous First Nations: THIS is who we are, here in the North. Just letting you know that we are fighting our way towards the centre of the circle, so that we may finally meet as equals in our responsibilities and guardianships of Mother Earth. This letter was sent to the Swedish corporate authorities one month ago.......I was told to inform them if I thought about leaving the country and that I was to get 2 very important letters from the High courts of Sweden.....still no letter! My open letter to the Swedish Skatteverket: To The Swedish Tax authorities/ Skatteverket: We are a transition family that is building ecological resilience towards troubles coming, through complete sustainability on lands that have been family cared-for three generations. By transition family i mean that we have seen the sickness in the money-based society, not to mention the greed, laziness, corruption, dis-ease, genocide, ecocide and pollution it creates. We wish now nothing more than to teach our children proudly that we did not support or participate in any of this. This means that we have chosen to take our responsibilities seriously towards the land, to the children, to the coming generations, to the global circle of life and to all our relations that help keep that circle balanced. This means that we are returning to our local landbase, consciously - and as fast as our times allow. To make this transition to complete sustainability and balance within one generation - we knew would not be easy. This is why my dear partner (Sandra Brovall) in the end volunteered to be the one to make the committment to stay with her connection to the economic world. She secured regular work, pay the taxes that continue to devastate people and planet, cover food and electricity for the family, clothing and days out for the children. Meanwhile, I have been working in all seasons to prepare this land for a four zone permaculture system. I am now using my knowledge wisely and using my 26 years of sustainability research and traditional indigenous guidance to analyse our needs, in order to be in a relatively short time by hand - no oil or machine - balancing future needs of my family with complete seed sustainability /sovereignty on-site. as well as our rights as human-beings, these are also our gravest responsibilities that each of us should be taking. We have fully researched the bio region and culture we live in/are part of and educated ourselves with the seventh generation in mind (forming the the base for all our decisions), enough to know we can replace for example even the petro-chemical products in buildings and the chemicals in our food - with site-grown, non-Genetically modified plant care, permaculture, aquaculture, Earthship Biotecture and good responsible land management and building practices. Human and ecological health is at the heart of everything I do and Not to harm or cause loss is the only human-made law necessary for maintaining peace and balance in our communities. All of this together, when puzzled together with results of a ten year (and counting) attempt to live independently of money and the horrors that it causes - could actually become a great medicine for the world at this time. Absolutely for our OWN conscience and peace of mind here, at least. This is just the preamble to what really brings me to write this letter. I chose SERIOUSLY and with sound mind and judgement over ten years ago to live without direct involvement with the monetary transactions. anything i do do with money is usually through ngos or ideél organisations. The exception is a few years back when me and Sandra tested growing food for money (So that Sandra too could finally start living and working from her landbase. Although a successful attempt, this could only cover the family for half of the year, without adequate storage facilities on-site. I have been working with these winter store facilities ever since, as part of what I have chosen to do with my life - using free recyclable materials that get left by the surrounding community as well as the local natural materials of the site. I also work hard at becoming completely sustainable for our own seed and water - the prequisite, responsibility and right of all human beings to choose to do so. The actual urgent reason for this letter. Even though I have chosen to take my responsibilities seriously, without dependance on money, your office continues to send me tax declarations each year (with a different person writing to me every time) - and threatened to en-debt me according to your value system, each time I choose not to get involved. I have repeatedly tried to explain my position and that all previous activity of our registered garden centre New Earth Villages HB has been on ice until Sandra has adequate Winter storage capacity prepared. I will let you know if something changes there, I am an honest human-being. Last year I could proudly proclaim that I personally had an income of less than 100 kronor, thanks to our hard work. Actually thanks to Sandras hard work, my income was and still is zero kronor. How about that? By the information I read that was sent by your offices this means that I finally do not need to care about bullying letters, threatening for no valid reason to keep adding ficticious numbers against my name. The tax declarations accompanying information states that I have nothing to declare, plain and simple! So why is it that Skatteverket is behaving more like a cartel against me? I DO NOT, nor plan to have ever, anything at all to give you. So this letter is a formal request to stop harrassing me, on paper or through your numbers game and judicial system. To clarify the reasons behind my choices. I saw early in life through service in the British Army, that all the new wars (and probably some of the old ones) were really all about the oil dependancy of our Northern societies - and the massive abuse of our relationship to fire. We have now corrupted into a sickness that is capable of taking all life from this Earth - and sadly is doing so at an increasing rate. We need to apply the brakes now, together if at all possible, but not like this anyway. This is no excuse for further racism either, it is ALL of us in ther Northern communities, killing and poisoning all life on Earth, to the tune of 200 species per day exctinction rate (UN statistics). This is unforgiveable! I have worked for and with indigenous elders and the natural world, as stated, for over 26 years. I understand, like them, that these are our relatives and they need protecting from further harm, as do the more vulnerable among our own human family. This isnt going to happen for as long as we are perpetuating ecocide and genocide in the name of economic growth/tillväxt around the world. We cannot allow this out-of-control, automised and failing pyramidical system of dominance within our lands and communities to be perpetuated longer. We need another choice! You just need to look at the blood we have on OUR hands now by allowing Carl Bildt to negotiate for six of the nine new oil districts of Ethiopia, via Lundin Mining/Petroleum AB - AKA Africa Oil. As negotiations were underway on Ethiopian soil with Mr. Bildt, the Ethiopian government was raping, killing and burning the indigenous villages and villagers that BECAME those new oil districts. Mr. Bildt then went on to become extremely wealthy - as did a Mr. Reinfeldt and a Mr. Borg and countless others involved in todays government - via Africa Oil. They then went on to discredit the integrity of the the Swedish pension scheme, by investing the next generations pension fund in Lundins commercial interests. What a way to stop the next generation from protesting where their moneys coming from! What more guilt can we expect to look forward to if such decisions are allowed to continue? These cannot be responsible human-beings. Is this system not built then to serve a self-serving cartel of rich people devoid of all moral sense and compassion? Im really thinking it is and so as father of three must take my moral responsibility and wash my hands of any involvement in this nonsense. No compromises anymore - we must reach local sustainability and on a much, much smaller ecological footprint. Working with the indigenous communities for so long has made me heartsick by seeing things wedo and the things that we are all too often bullied into doing. Working on sustainability, ecological system repair and bio-diversity regeneration (all words for the same thing from different understandings)is very healing, in every sense of the meaning. I choose therefore by my natural-born, sovereign human right, to become a living, balanced, responsible and peaceful part of the local landbase and eco-system here and no longer give my consent or support to any of the governments of our time. In fact, looking at our histories, I think we can see now whats really been going on, in whos names and for whos benefit.
