Reposting this one again. It goes right along with what we have been discussing. Did Early Believers in Yeshua Celebrate Easter? The obvious answer to that question would be NO. They observed Passover. The Messiah observed it and His disciples kept it so why did the Christian Church change it? The evidence is clear that the first century believers kept it. Rabbi Shaul (Paul) instructed his disciples to keep it with all of its meanings. Clean out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Messiah our Passover also has been sacrificed. I Corinthians 5:7 Even though Yeshua was resurrected, it never once suggests that it be observed as some type of holiday like Easter like the Christian Church do. YHWH gave us the Holy Days and specifically asked that we follow His Instructions. Yeshua specifically mentioned that Christians were to observe the Passover as He did (Luke 22:14-20). Since few who profess Christianity observe the Passover, what happened? Once again it is all about Man changing YHWHs Word. Rabbi Shaul (Paul) even gives a detailed account in I Corinthians chapter 11, verses 23 through 28, of how the Messiah ate the afikoman (the matzah eaten after the meal) and offered the third cup of the Seder, the cup of redemption, in the Passover meal as a symbol of His work of redemption. His exhortation to eat it separated from other meals and to eat it in a proper manner are the basic commandments of the Passover meal from Moses. Why was this not taught and observed? Somehow Man chose to separate the bread and the cup out from the Passover, making it the ordinance of the church and a sacrament. That is in No way what Yeshua told us to do. They simply do NOT understand that Passover is the Feast of Redemption, remembering the transition from death to life by the blood (life) of the lamb. It is not crumbs and sips of juice; it is a feast with an overflowing cup and a satisfying meal. The fact is if you will study the History of the Early Church (the RCC) you will discover the Truth that continued in the RCC and was adopted by MOST Protestant Denominations. The fact that the Passover controversy arose when Emperor Hadrian adopted new repressive measures against Jewish religious practices suggests that such measures influenced the new Gentile hierarchy to change the date of Passover from Nisan 14 to the following Sunday (Easter-Sunday) in order to show separation and differentiation from the Jews and the Jewish Christians... A whole body of Against the Jews literature was produced by leading Fathers who defamed the Jews as a people and emptied their religious beliefs and practices of any historical value. Two major causalities of the anti-Jewish campaign were Sabbath and Passover. The Sabbath was changed to Sunday and Passover was transferred to Easter-Sunday. They will NOT teach YOU this in the Christian Church.
